Calypso

This year for Matthew’s birthday we went to Calypso water park. Since the weather called for rain no one went and there were no lines. In the end it rained for 30 seconds and was cloudy for half the day. It was still warm and it was great not to have to line up. This year Nat and I got to try a lot more slides and had a blast.

Decorating the tree

Its the season once again and of course we took some time out to put up the old XMas tree. This being our first year in Kanata we had to choose a spot. Luckily Matthew’s toy room a.k.a. our living room was available with a lot of space. This years festivals should be good we are expecting the whole family and as well possible some friend will drop by to join in. All and all it will be a great holiday with family and friends.

To start the photo frenzy here are a few pictures from the tree decoration night we had the other day. Enjoy the bokeh photos too.

Mont Tremblant

The family decided to take a weekend for some much needed R and R. It was a great weekend and I think everyone got to enjoy at least one part of it. At this time of year it is still quiet and skiing is just starting with snow making efforts on there way.

Although we didn’t ski, Matthew took the time to enjoy the snow and had a great time staying in a hotel as if it was his first time.

Both Alex and Félicia took the time to do a little shopping and indulged in some new food. Alex practiced her photography and Félicia enjoyed her time with Matthew on the slopes.

Lobster party

Well it was a great weekend. As you can see from these pictures provided by our good friend Dana. It was Matthew’s birthday party Saturday and a lobster party Sunday at Shipman’s and Moni’s place. It was fun and the food was great. Shipman finally found a wine/drink mixture that Natalie enjoyed after 7 years of searching. The lobster was great and the company was fun. It was a good end to a nice weekend. As you can see the food was a big part of the entertainment. We all had fun ripping apart our food to eat it. Except Dana who realized he could not stomach the tail of the lobster. The best part!

In the studio

[portfolio_slideshow size=full, nav=false]
Check it out. I finally got my home studio setup and took some time to shoot the kids and Natalie. Getting to capture images like these is what really makes photography fun. Thanks to Nat I always have great words of encouragement. Without her I would have never continued or proceeded with my career change to photography. I have come a long way since my first shoots.

Thanks Natalie.

Skating the Rideau

[portfolio_slideshow size=full, nav=false]
Great day on the canal skating and eating beaver tails. Weather was great at -1. It was cloudy but nice. The canal was full of people on a day like this but we found a lot room to skate and pull the kids. Stopped for some beaver tails as is necessary when on the canal. All in all it was a good day with family and friends.

Thanksgiving 2010

Thanksgiving TableThis year we hosted Thanksgiving at our home for our friends Steve and Moni, Yolande, my mom and of course the kids.

This year I cooked a pumpkin soup, and herbed boneless turkey breast with a verity of side dishes. My mom and Steve provided some great wines and for desert a home made pumpkin cake.

I think everyone enjoyed themselves and from what I heard the food was good. Thanks to everyone who helped out with the clean up.

Check out the pics here.

Pumpkin Picking 2010

[portfolio_slideshow size=full, nav=false]
It is that time a year again and you know what that means. Natalie has already started think about Halloween. So we decided to get together with some friends and pick pumpkins at a near by farmers field.

Getting to the pumpkin patch was fun riding in the back of a tractor. Of course Matthew’s fascination with the tractor almost got him run over.

As you can see it was all about the kids. For some reason when kids get to do something by themselves they and we just seem to enjoy it more. For Thea and Matthew it is about how strong they can be lifting the big pumpkins up. I think Thea won.

Even Thea’s mom found here perfect pumpkin.

Ultimately it was Dana who found the best pumpkin out in the distance.
